Veteran Health Insurance Executive Javier Tejeda-Vera Joins as Vice President of Sales
Minneapolis, MN, June 16, 2015 – Unveiling a robust digital and social media campaign featuring actress Cynthia Olavarria, with an endorsement from The Hispanic Institute, The IHC Group launched a new sales and marketing division of IHC Specialty Benefits. Aspira A Más (“Aspire for More”) will focus on recruiting health insurance advisors, creating professional career opportunities for Hispanics and offering affordable health insurance solutions to consumers initially in Miami and Phoenix.
IHC introduced the new division with a press conference in Miami highlighted by an appearance from Ms. Olavarria, star of Tierra de Reyes and a former Miss Puerto Rico Universe. Ms. Olavarria has filmed a series of vignettes talking with members of the Hispanic community about Aspira A Más, which initially will be deployed via social media channels and digital advertising on Telemundo’s Miami and Phoenix station websites, and ultimately may be distributed nationally.
“I am passionate about encouraging healthy lifestyles, and so I am very excited to be a part of Aspira A Más! It is a project near and dear to my heart- promoting healthy living and creating jobs for the Hispanic community- it hits the core of my ideal initiative. It is my sincere hope that our social media and digital campaigns reach and impact my beloved community in a very positive and very powerful way,” said Cynthia Olavarria.
IHC’s positive industry reputation, financial stability, and track record of building and growing career agencies provide new Aspira A Más producers with the platform they need to be successful. Recruiting currently licensed as well as aspiring producers, Aspira A Más advisors will receive state-of-the-art training by experienced instructors in a supportive environment, and those who are not currently licensed will receive the assistance necessary to obtain professional accreditation.
"Through our industry experience and proven track record in growing successful career agencies, we are confident that we can help Hispanics to become licensed health insurance advisors, which in turn will give them the ability to impact their communities in a positive way,” said Brian Dow, Chief Operating Officer of IHC Specialty Benefits. Mr. Dow added, "Hispanics are widely recognized as one of the most under-insured demographic groups even after ObamaCare. Aspira A Más is committed to working with community organizations as well as our licensed advisors to help bring much needed, affordable coverage options."
To broaden the outreach into the Hispanic community, IHC has appointed Javier Tejeda-Vera as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. A dynamic, experienced health insurance executive, Mr. Tejeda-Vera will be responsible for overseeing advisor recruiting, sales, marketing and increasing Aspira A Más’ presence in other U.S. cities with significant Hispanic populations through a grassroots, culturally relevant messaging campaign.
"I have been a professional in the insurance industry for most of my adult life, but it has always been my dream to find a way to give back to my community. Aspira A Más gives me that opportunity and I am confident that we will not only be a very successful sales and marketing division of The IHC Group, but will also become recognized as a leading job creator and insurance provider in cities with large Hispanic populations across the country," remarked Mr. Tejeda-Vera.
Aspira A Más advisors’ initial product portfolio of affordable health products will include ObamaCare health insurance as well as products that complement and supplement major medical insurance like short term health insurance, dental, accident and other coverages to meet the needs of individuals and families. For those advisors working toward acquiring their mandatory state insurance producer license, some of the non-insurance health product offerings are designed to be sold prior to obtaining the license.
